So did Freddy really love Joan?
In the last episode of OFAH Del says Freddy was a womaniser, so did he really love Joan or was she just one of many women he did that to? What does everyone think?

I think he did and thats why he didn't turn up to run away with her as they'd planned. He knew he couldn't give up crime and knew it wouldn't be fair to make her leave Del and her jobs for him and then have him end up prison because then she and Rodny would be left alone.

They hadn't explored enough about Freddy and Joan to fully understand him as a character. He was a really unpleasant piece of work, but I think he did love her.
It's also given the impression that Joan had never been some old 'slapper' as she appeared in OFAH who would go with any man, but in actual fact probably only had one bloke and kept his idenity a secret for the sake of Rodney. I don't think Freddy would have been much better for her than Reg, but she may have had some money in her pocket.
