Lipstick on your Collar

Did anyone else notice the similarities in the set to Lipstick on your Collar??! I know Lipstick was based in the 50's, not the 60's. But the London terraced street, Joanie walking up and down the street with a wiggle, Joanie working in the cinema in a tight burgandy hostess dress, the bullying husband, dissapproving neighbours etc... might just be me but it was VERY similar!!!

reply

Yes I know what you mean. I saw Lipstick not to long ago.

reply

As soon as I saw the terraced street I thought of Lipstick and the cinema manager is EXACTLY like Roy Hudd's character (the cinema organist) in Lipstick.

It had a very, very similar feel.

reply

Yeah, agreed, more Dennis Potter than Derek Trotter!

reply

Well it started in 1960 so the fifties are literally only just finished.

It did have that kind of vibe. Maybe that is what it was like in the era.

It's that man again!!
