Role of Religion (SPOILERS)

Many people have said that this movie is full of Christian propaganda. However, I'm not so sure if this is the case. While religion certainly plays a prominent role in the movie, the priest surreptitiously gives drugs to his parishioners and in the end gets arrested by the police. So maybe the movie is not trying to convey a Christian message but rather subtly poke fun at the Church/religion? What do you guys think?
