This is by no means a perfect movie, but it's pretty funny, which is what you'd expect from the UCB. It goes for a lot of laughs and is mostly successful, and was more ambitious than I expected in terms of the scale of the dance numbers.

It did make me wonder if maybe Besser & Mahoney secretly really just wanted to make a dance movie but were embarrassed to tell anyone, so they made it a parody to hide their true intentions.

The part that least worked for me was that the songs were arranged like straight-up piano-driven show tunes. Funny, but also jarring, and it made me wonder how it would have worked if they'd been arranged in a contemporary style, like hip-=hop or R&B. That is, played musically straighter, with the humor coming from the content.

Regardless, this is well worth a rental if you're a fan of UCB-style humor. If you don't know what that is, maybe this won't be for you.

I would like to say that the person who wrote this:

"Upright Citizens Brigade was never top-tier, making more bad skits than good"

is a moron.
