What idiot thought of this? Obviously someone who knows nothing about dancers. Yes there a few rare examples like Villela or Baryshnikov, but they are extremely rare. Anyway, the actors playing them obviously are NOT straight!

I don't know where you're from, but I went to a performing arts school, and the majority of the dancers, ballet or otherwise, were straight. One of my oldest friends is a prime example. Dancers come in every form, just like all other professions.

The realism or lack thereof about portrayal of sexual orientation in the show shouldn't affect your enjoyment of it.
I never understood why more straight men weren't involved in dance/cheer. It takes just as much stamina as football, with less concussions, and a chance to hang out with pretty girls.

How much time have you spent in performing arts? I went to both college and university to study it and the majority of the male students were straight. In college only one was gay and in university there were no gay males in my year. There were two in the year below but the rest were all straight. I know a lot of people in performing arts and a lot of them are straight. My best friend went to a specialist dance school and several of the males there were straight, several of them were gay but there were a lot of straight males.
