First message: Go Jennifer

I can't wait to see Jennifer Hudson as Winnie Mandela. I smell Oscar nomination.

reply

Yes Jennifer go! Go far far away!
Jennifer can't act her tacky way out of a paper bag, this role should have went to the GORGEOUS talented Terry Pheto, who is actually AFRICAN!

reply

Oh, Poppy, please don't start that shyt again, movie making is a business, it has to make money, as well as entertain, and unfortunately, the lovely Terry will not put bums on the seats.

reply

Jennifer Hudson is NOT box office.

reply

She does have an Oscar!

reply

And?
Halle Berry has one too and look at her career, Oscar does not mean box office, do you realize how many great popular talented actors and actresses who DON'T have Oscars, yet still have more important careers than Jennifer Hudson?
Her Oscar win was a fluke and you know it, Shes the only person I know that built an entire career based on sympathy!

reply

And,

all I'm saying is that an American well known actress will attract more viewers to the cinema, than South African one, especially since North America is the biggest film market. If we had to rely on the South African audience to make the film profitable, it would be a massive financial flop.

Film making is not a charity.

I think Jennifer Hudson is a great choice. Will she do the role justice? We will see.

But Jennifer is well on her way to becoming a superstar...she is taking things slowly, but with her music and film career (already having won an Oscar and a Grammy), she is a legend in the making.

btw, has anyone seen her recently? She's lost a TON of weight.

reply

Jennifer Hudson has a fanbase, and the media attention for this film will be MAJOR! Jennifer Hudson has an Oscar and I hope she works very hard to prove she can act! This role is huge for Jennifer it is so nice to see a black actress get a SERIOUS DRAMATIC ROLE and not fluff! I was a bit worried when she did that silly sex and the city movie. Jennifer is very talented and I am glad she has a vehicle to prove herself!

You are soo mean spirited. Get a life o.k.

reply

Totally agree w/divaofdeath,Ms Hudson is a excellent choice to portray
Winnie Mandela.I believe she'll do the role justice.
Also like Terence Howard as Nelson Mandela.

reply

I heard the producers of the movie told Jennifer not to consult The REAL Winnie Mandela about this movie. and She agreed. isn't that disrespectful? if it's true, i'm not supporting this movie!

your wife looks my dinner after I eat

reply

I never heard that one Strict--however, I do also believe that this film is gravely miscast. I may be wrong, who knows. I truly believe that Ms. Hudson did not deserve the oscar win that year (Blanchett was loads better in Notes on a Scandal) like so many try to convince themselves of.

You will pay the price for your lack of vision

reply

Yes yes....go Jennifer....go home and take your sh!t, hammed up accent with you.

All right, that's it! No more Mr. Nice Gaius!

reply

Since I haven't seen the film, it would be wrong for me to make a judgment of Jennifer Hudson's performance. I think she has the qualities for becoming a terrific actress.
