Winnie could have stopped her bodyguards

Winnie had total control of her Bodyguards. She could have stopped them. She could have choose to be a force for peace when she returned home. But she choose to combat violence and division with more violence and division if this movie is true. I am so shocked at what the bodyguards did and the fact that she did nothing to stop them. She is as much responsible as the bodyguards were. When you get to that point you are actually giving strength to your enemies. I wonder if the bodyguards were sent to prison by nelson's government when he became president.
