Get rid of Lorraine Bracco!

I've noticed that shows in which the leads are women, always have to round out the character(s) by giving them family. It's a tired out plot line, used too many times. As for Bracco, she's the most irritating person on the show. Get rid of her!

reply

yes please her and Jordan Bridges. There is way to much focus on their characters.

reply

sadly in recent seasons this show has become the "Rizzoli family show" instead so there's been alot more focus on Angela & Frankie's character simply because they are Jane's family. I agree I want much less focus on them both and more on Maura since this show is suppose to be about Rizzoli AND Isles, it's not suppose to be about the Rizzoli family. Unfortunately with where the direction of the show is currently going with Jan Nash at the helm...I'm afraid the show might continue to be the "Rizzoli family show".

reply

you are spot on. The dynamics since Jan Nash took over are so obvious, Nash doesn't know her characters at all. I don't know if anyone watching cares about the Frankie, Angela and Korsak story lines ( i definitely don't, i have no interest in Kiki, Ron or Frankie's apartment.). I wouldn't watch the Rizzoli family show.

reply

I'm just trying to figure out how Angela and other random folks are allowed to just walk into their squad room.

reply

well Angela has 2 children who are both cops and 1 of them is a very decorated detective, she's also good friends with Korsak, and she herself used to work at the cafeteria in BPD for a while, so she's probably very familiar with alot of the guys at BPD...she's probably considered somewhat part of the BPD "family" even, so it would be pretty easy for her to just walk into their squad room.
I'm not sure about other random characters you're referring to...but any visitor to the BPD who is not an employee should only enter with a visitor's badge.

reply

Not just the police department, but I also tire of her popping up in Maura's home anytime she wants. I know she lives in the guest house, but c'mon respect the privacy and boundaries of Maura! She's like the house guest that doesn't leave; or the mother-inlaw who keeps sticking her nose into everybody's business.

reply

maura doesn't seem to mind.....

reply

Also Maura's door never seems to be locked

reply

In another life she may have learned from Special Agent Gibbs that keeping her door unlocked is a perfectly okay thing to do. 

Dr Jason Bull: Don't give up on people, they're all we've got.

reply

Yes, but Gibbs was a gun carrying ex sharpshooter and he had lots of tools to use as weapons . Maura, I suppose could use her brass chafing dish!

reply

I agree. Ma Rizzoli is a ridiculous character that is good in small doses but every episde is the same:

A problem happens, everyone tries to keep it from Ma Rizzoli, but she knows something is up, so she finds out why, no one can resist telling her, she finds out and they talk.

BLAH BLAH BLAH

reply

And every character sighs and lets her get by with the "tell me" behavior.

She looked as if she had just swallowed an armadillo. - "Spencer"

reply

I cannot stand her character. I've never really been a fan of Lorraine Bracco's, though. I can't stand the way she speaks so slowly. It grates on my nerves!! I'm pretty sure the show would survive if Ma Rizzoli moved away forever.

reply

Yes! Her speech pattern bothers me too! I find it hard to believe she was in the Sopranos.

reply

Lorraine Bracco is one of Angie Harmon's closest friends she's not going anywhere. We are stuck with her until the end. And her increased screen time. Earlier on in the seasons she we would see her once max twice in an episode now she is everywhere. Even sticking her nose in police investigations. Cant stand her character or Frankie.

reply

I gave up hoping she would go away. Her busybody attitude has always been annoying and I had hoped they would have found a way to move her away. But nooooooooo, she is invoked in EVERY SINGLE storyline! Ugh! She's always "overhearing" stories and butting in. Even when she had Ron that still didn't keep her busy enough.

And I've always complained about Frankie being too dang goofy, but I had to accept it. I still do t understand why they make him act that way. He stands goofy, talks goofy and even holds his gun goody. When you see the actor talk in real life he's nowhere near as dufus so why make him act that way. It adds nothing.

reply

I guess it's their way of adding comedy relief.

reply

Hey, what's with devoting an entire paragraph to losers who wail "get rid of Lorraine Bracco..."

Lorraine Bracco is one of the strengths of "Rizzoli & Isles". As Angela, she is the glue that holds together the entire cast.

that still doesn't make her character any less annoying, just saying...

reply

Her extreme interference in her children's lives and in Maura's life makes her unlikable to me. Good heavens this 50something woman just gave up a budding relationship because she said her "children" needed her. I'd have been livid with my [widowed] mom did that.

reply

Sometimes too much glue can ruin a product. Her constant need to stick her nose in the lives of her kids yet not have control of her life is unbearable. I saw an preview of a new series with her in it, so thankfully we won't have to tolerate her much longer!

reply

Her character never bothered me that much until the episode where she went into Maura;s condo and searched for info on Ian - This women, who had been given free room and open access to Maura's condo , totally betrayed her !

reply

What about the episode where she provided incriminating video on Maura during a murder investigation. Before that episode I found her very annoying, but ever since I have come to really dislike her. I really wanted to see Maura to kick her out of the guest house after that business.
