The lamb... (possible spoiler)

So he gets a fifty pound shank of lamb. It's frozen solid... A few hours later after walking arounnd outside with it, it's melting and leaking blood already. It wouldn't have even have begun to thaw let alone be at the point where blood was leaking all over the place, especially being outside in the cold.

This makes no sense. It's winter in the movie, and on top of that, it takes at least a full 24hrs or more to thaw even a 25 pound turkey.

He was indoors with it a lot. Plus he was holding it close to his warm body. But I agree the scene was silly in an otherwise good movie. Who buys meat from a stranger off the street?

Rebuild the WTC exactly as before and keep old movies accurate!

And he was pretty desperate to unload it I don't think he thought it was a good idea he had no other options.

I think the scene worked perfectly to illustrate the point that although he is really a good man he's old and still a bum after all these years desperately trying to make ends meat (no pun intended)

Sorry Man96, but your "no pun intended" is screaming to be answered: Had you spelled "meet" properly, your disclaimer would be more credible.

I loved the scene with the dog fighting over it.

Study the trailing screen credits for a reveal.

The ravenous extra -- seen scarfing the new zealand grass fed lamb's carcus -- that doggy's last name is shown as Farina. His dog.

RIP Old Man.

Plus it was worth $200 a pound?

What we have here is failure to communicate!

reply

He said $1000 for a 50 pound lamb so $20 a pound.

reply

That's still way too high, especially wholesale for a big shank like that. But it could be that Lenny was making up the amount to get rid of him as he said about "lending a loser five bucks".

SPOILER ALERT: Of greater concern in the oops dept. is his leaving the bat he got for his grandson at his son's house, then magically having it at hand for the batting practice scene. Unless the deleted scenes on the DVD has the son UPS'ing it back to him, the generosity of which would, in my opinion, not quite fit the mood of their parting.
