the girlfriend was so freakin ugly

She was just ugly, not even average - ugly. Which is a shame since the guy who played Brian was really hot, just didn't go with him. It was a good movie anyway, but distracting every time she was on screen, I kept thinking "how is this girl in movies? She's so f-ing ugly!"

"I swear in the days still left we'll walk in fields of gold.."

Nah. I liked the fact that she was a real girl. It made the love between the two characters a bit more real... or something. Don't know if that's the right way to put it. I just seemed more genuine to me.

And, it's a nice change from the typical Michael Bay tendency to cast oddly "beautiful" actresses in roles like this. You know, Megan Fox is just some everyday girl/mechanic in small town USA. Whatever.

Nope, she was not ugly, not gorgeous but not ugly. Women are such bitches with each other.....

Wow you seriously have some personal hang ups or issues with women, if that's the worst thing you have to say about this film then amazing. Women can be such bitches, however you view the main character and his "hotness" I kinda think her "fuglyness" is irrelevant. Thought you liked blonde guys :-/

I kinda liked it that she wasn't Hollywood hot. She had a girl next door or a girl from the neighborhood feel which kinda was nice.
