this movie is not as bad as everybody says....

It definitely should not be considered a sequal to pure country but it is a decent movie. The main character..."bobby" is a great singer honestly. She cannot act that great though. I heard that in real live this actress writes songs for Carrie Underwood. I am curious why she is not making albums herself and just writing songs. Honestly she is a better singer than Ms. Underwood (better range and not as throaty sounding) and cuter too.

I liked Katrina Elam's singing and she's nice to look at. The movie is OK, sort of a light hearted musical drama. Country music fans and families should like this movie. It's not truly a sequel of Pure Country, it's a different plot line.

If you are going to call something Pure Country 2 do you not think it should have at least something to do with the first film. This film was not that bad, it was ok, but it was not Pure Country 2.

There was some misrepresentation in the title of this movie. I think the producers wanted fans of the original Pure Country to see this movie's title with George Strait headlining and have them assume that this movie was an extension of the first one, because they knew they had a limited audience. Kind of a sneaky move.
If they didn't call it Pure Country 2 hardly anyone would've watched it.

The problem with this film is that the message gets in the way of the story.
It would be better if the last twist were omitted.

Is it sugary, corny and predictable? Yes, but it is done very well.

I was surprised that the winsome Ms. Elam was the actual singer. It was good enough that I expected to see a "big name" in the credits.
