Hispanic woman with six kids

I wonder how much that woman's religion and culture played into her being swayed to the Pregnancy Care Center side. Hispanics, speaking in Spanish, using rosary beads and other Catholic themes about this topic...talk about framing your message to the audience!

It was a heart-wrenching scene and I felt so sorry for her and her family that this influence with leave them with another mouth to feed.

im sure that the 15 year old kid will be happy to know that the Pregnancy Care Center persuaded mommy to keep them alive!

reply

Yes but at what cost? Mom is ignorant for listening to those idiots at the Pregnancy Care Center and she has no money to take care herself and her child. Why was adoption not discussed? At least the babies would be loved and cared for. Candace at the abortion clinic was much more educated than the idiot at the pregnancy care center. And their brochure was full of LIES!!!!!!!

reply

Well she'll probably end up back at the welfare office to up her payments like they all do.

This is the thing that kills me. Some anti-abortion zealots are so quick to promise the moon to a woman if she keeps her child. Where the hell are they when a woman has to hear her child cry with hunger? When the family is being kicked out on the street for not being able to pay rent? People complain when a woman goes on welfare. What is she supposed to do? Leave her baby home alone while she works? The US government has the least resources for families than any developed country I can think of. In Europe many countries give women 6-12 months of paid maternity leave and free daycare if they choose to go back to work. Are the anti-choice people fighting for this for American women? No, because then their taxes would go up. These people care about fetuses, not babies or their mothers. It's disgusting.

I wondered if she and the "protesters" were actors or plants. That scene just didn't ring true to me.

It broke my heart watching her there, so COMPLETELY alone. The look on her face, like she just wished she were invisible..... it was tragic. I just wanted someone from inside the Women's World Medical Center to run back outside and safely escort her to her vehicle so she wouldn't have to be harassed by those protesters.

reply

I don't understand why there wasn't a damn escort for her. Patients going to this abortion clinic must walk a good way from parking to the door - without an escort - without any kind of fencing or landscaping shielding them from the crazy protesters!! Why didn't that abortion clinic have a staff member there to usher her in & prevent the badgering that occurred? I get that it was mentioned that previously the clinic had erected a fence (the crazy priest laughed how he just climbed a ladder & looked down on the clients) - but still....that clinic had no obstructions from parking to their door. I get that the place is trying to be "low key" in the neighborhood, but for God's sake, some decorative fencing, and some landscaping for sure, could be dissuasive barriers between the protesters & the clients!
As for that Hispanic woman, it was obvious she is ignorant, irresponsible, naive, weak, and sorry to have to call it but it's true: dumb as a box of hammers. To think she already had 6 kids at home made me want to pull out my hair. And what did she cave into & will now ensure she brings a 7th kid into this world? A stuffed animal? That part of the film showed how pathetic the protesters are, and how pathetic that woman is.
