I'm sorry, I'm not Catholic or a religious authority, but why do people think that ALL priests molest children? No doubt, the cases presented were terrible and appalling situations, but is it really fair to think that because of the priests outed in the media for their crimes, that ALL other priests must be of the same character? That would be like saying that because social outcasts have typically been responsible for the highly covered school shootings, that all social outcasts have or will be violent. You realize that people of all beliefs and backgrounds do horrible things? No one is exempt, not even the religious...we are all human, no matter what your fundamental beliefs are.
And if you do not in fact believe that ALL priests are child molesters, then why would one expect that this topic should be covered in church any more than any other topic?
Additionally, not that I feel any obligation to defend anyone, but how do you know that the priest in the documentary didn't ask the congregation to pray for the "victims?" The film literally depicted less than 10 minutes of one church service; surely, we have to understand that film editing gives the audience a "snapshot" of an entire situation.
And...
The figurative future child, the one that is nothing more than a parasite, feeding off its host.
...wow, why don't you tell us what you
really think about children?
It just seems that you and the OP have internalized deeper issues and have put them solely at the feet of this "religious" culture you criticize.
