Is it any good without nathan?

For me he was by far the shows best character, but i heard in series 3 he leaves. Is it worth carrying on? I mean simons interesting but apart from him i cant say any of the other characters seem unique compared to other shows. And why does nathan leave anyway? e.g did he leave himself r did the writers want someone fresh?

I have the same question on if its worth watching. I'll probably give it a shot anyhow.

As for him leaving I read he wanted to just, and I quote; "piss off and do other things". Apparently no bad blood or salary issues or anything like that.

Bloody shame either way

Ironically sounds like Nathan too

It's definitely worth watching. You'll miss Nathan for a few episodes, but in comes Rudy and saves the show!

reply

Yeah, Rudy grows on you and fills that void. Give it a chance.

I definitely felt Nathan's absence throughout the rest of the series. He was hilarious and gave the show some great one-liners and took a light stand on serious situations. The show definitely got darker when he left.

The others stick around until the end of season 3, however, so it's not bad. Curtis is there for a bit of season 4.

I'd say season 4 is the worst, and you really feel everyone's absence. Season 5 gets interesting again though.

The life of the show for me was the original cast, so when they started dropping off I lost interest, but it's up to you. All great young actors, really fun show.

reply

to be absolutely frank, the show died when nathan left.

reply

Agree. Honestly I didn't continue with the show after season 2. I tried but it just wasn't the same

I kinda binged this show 1-5 to see Iwan Rheon play something not evil, and left with a profound appreciation for Joe Gilgun (Rudy). Seriously, the show gets a little messy in the last two seasons but the Rudy's are so good I wanted to see them to the end.

Season three is worth checking out. If you like Rudy, stick with it, if you don't, drop it.

Pretty much the best summary
I just got to the end of s5 after abandioning eraly forstr time round a couple years ago

I felt the show was good up to the end/never-ending arc of Simon and Alicia. Too sad to really continue after they left. I hated Rudy (still hate that actor in Preacher) Personally, I could take or leave Nathan. The actor ruined a great thing. He believed the hype and thought he was going to become a huge international star doing movies (Mortal Instruments) but quickly discovered the Misfit writer's were actually the geniuses. They gave him the best lines. He's since faded away back to Irish film/TV.

Weird how everyone has a massive hardon for Nathan

The character was a totally obnoxious selfish prick , a complete asshole
But had the charisma to balance it out - thats a big bucket of charisma!

The performance/line delivery was great, Robert Sheehan is a legend.
