im a huge fan of the Afterdark originals and look forward to them every year..Up until this year i could boast that all of the Afterdark originals were solid films ranging from outstanding to average however none were complete busts...
Until Scream of the Banshee...This film was lame on all levels..the costumes in the 11th century opening scenes were ridiculously neat,clean and pressed,after the banshee screams the cast has blood pouring out of there ears with no residual effects like hearing loss ect..the effects were awful and Lauren Hollys face is now pulled so tight she looks awful,in a few more years she'll be unrecognizable..another plastic surgery disaster...
the overall look and feel of this film feels nothing like an Afterdark original but more like one of the Syfy channel originals and being that it was broadcast on Syfy didnt help its cause..
Also Lance Henrickson..he is Legend in the horror/sci-fi genre taking part in many classics however these days he's the kiss of death..chances are if Lance is in your film its gonna suck..i understand a mans gotta work but its hard to watch sometimes.. this film was a huge let down..

Agree,the movie was bad,plus Lauren Holly's bad plastic surgery on her face,I didn't even recognize her at first,how sad.

now that i have watched afterdarks 51 i no longer feel this is the worst film as 51 now holds that prestiges honor..
really disapionted with the afterdark 2011 this year..prowl and husk were both solid but 51 and scream of the banshee were intolerable made for tv trash

Trust me, this is not the worst After Dark movie... THE TASK is beyond bad and nothing happens throughout the whole film, it;s just an hour and a half of bad acting and college kids roaming dark hallways

I have to agree. I couldn't even finish the whole film, but the cover for it looks great.

I've seen a lot of AfterDark movies and felt they ALL were B-movies and took them as they were. This one is stupid, but OK for fun and laughs. The flaws of this movie are flaws that I can't laugh at. The movie was entertaining enough for me to call it an OK movie to watch on Halloween with your friends that have a sense of humor about B-Movies.

I think it's been established that AFterDark and Horrorfest movies are not to be taken too seriously. Lol

If you count Horrorfest.... Perkins' 14 is and always will be the worst.

100% true. Anyone who thinks this is the worst movie distributed by After Dark has obviously not seen Perkins' 14. Perkins' 14 is the one After Dark movie that I hated so bad I seriously considered hitchhiking to Los Angeles just so I could slap Courtney Solomon across the face.
