Too Much Resemblance To Elm Street Scenarios

I was very disappointed with this movie, primarily because the scenarios were too reminiscent of those we saw in the later Elm Street movies. In other words, they were a bit too far fetched. For example, the part where the long-haired girl appears to suffer a bloody end as she's dragged under the bed. Then she snaps back to reality and we discover it hasn't really happened to her after all. Sheesh!

And, come ON, the part where that guy says the banshee couldn't harm him because he didn't open his mouth . . . I mean, if a horrible monstrosity like that had you by the throat, you wouldn't exactly stay silent, would you?

By the way, am flogging it on ebay for six quid, if anyone wants to buy it.

I think the unrealism began with the fact that they are up against a Banshee not the far fetched bloody scenes. And as Lauren Holly's character explains to the guy it is causing hallucinations. Plus it's a fantasy horror movie just like the Nightmare on Elm Street movies. If every horror movie had the same realistic death scenes over and over people would become bored with them. This is why they create the fantasy based death scenes to give viewers an idea that there could be something else to be scared of. If it was a deranged man with a knife then I say bring on the regular death scenes but its a Banshee from Irish myth which comes about because of an exploded head that screams... I think we can move past normal deaths.

And if anything had you by the throat that hard no you wouldn't be able to scream or make much of any loud noises because your wind pipe would be blocked from any air.
