Was the goat really slaughtered?

Just a few minutes into this film, there's a scene where the goatherder kills a goat with a knife. He punctured the goat's neck with a knife and then the scene cut to another. When the knife made the puncture, the goat tensed up and made a terrible sound. I've watched a lot of horror films, and can always tell something's fake, but this looked completely real. Anyone know if this was real? If it is, I can not see how they made it look so real.

I just watched this movie myself... and thought the same exact thing. It looked and sounded real to me.

I am guessing that there was an uncut version to this POS because my version does not have said goat slaughter that the two of you are referring to.

Yeah, in the version I saw he comletely kills, skins, and cleans the goat, and you can tell it's completely real! Because of where the film was shot, and they probably ate it, so they don't have to adhere to same Animal Laws the US does.

Meat's meat, and man's gotta eat!!
