I'm so excited!

Being a descendant of one of the founders of Silla (like many Parks and Kims in Korea), I'm happy to be able to watch this on Hulu! The subtitles seem a bit too simple at times, but I guess that makes it more readable than fully explaining all the nuances.

I've heard that the series departs from history quite a bit and that the writers have taken a great deal of artistic license, but also that it's really entertaining. Can't wait to watch the adventures of the first queen of the Korean peninsula!

I stumbled across this show on Hulu about a month ago. I like historical type shows, like Rome for example. I've totally gone crazy over this show. I've watched just over half the 62 episodes now, and often, now watch 2 or 3 a day.

I can't even speak Korean, and I can tell what you mean about the "simplicity" of the subtitles. It's obvious they are going for the basic "gist" of what's being said, but I can live with that (especially since I don't speak Korean).

Anyway....if you (yes, you the one reading this), stumble across this show on IMDB and then come in and read this post, let me tell you this show is really worth watching. The production quality is great, it has some of the best writing I've ever come across and the story is VERY interesting. Basically - WATCH IT!

You don't believe me? Just watch a few episodes on Hulu, then judge for yourself.

I enjoyed the drama, very well done though heartbreaking at times. I didn't mind the simplity of the translations either because I don't speak Korean.

Also, I do have a question for ruizaio, or anyone else who knows, in the first episode it was said there were six clans or famiies that founded Silla. Assuming that is correct, Ruizaio mentioned the Kims and Parks, does anyone here know the other four?

Hulu??!! Are u crazy?! They have waaaaay to many commercials & Hulu gets their Korean dramas from DRAMAFEVER (link below), so we may as well go straight to the source. I found to many issues w/ videos & bad streaming @ HULU! Even worse, paying for a membership "wont" free us from advertisements!

Crunchyroll http://www.crunchyroll.com/the-great-queen-seondeok is the best. Even w/o membership the ads are far & short in between!! but Dramafever has more shows to choose from & is just as good too http://www.dramafever.com/featured/?b=g3

This superb production is also available on Netflix. It is probably the most enjoyable historical series I've ever seen in any language. If you are new to K-Drama, check out "Pasta" and "Scent of a Woman" -- truly great storytelling. Also, the Korean movie "Sunny" is terrific although most Korean movies don't match the quality found in their TV fare.

The subtitles (at least in the first episode) are better on Hulu. My ad block seems to be working on there, too, where it didn't in the past.
