As a cop, Joel stands a pretty decent chance of beating this thing

If I'm him, I'm going full Dexter and rounding up a couple known pedophiles out on parole, tie them both up, and beating one to death while the other one watches and gets the curse passed on to him.

Then, lock that guy in a basement somewhere so that this thing doesn't spread any further.

reply

what happens if he then kills the second guy as well, or if someone who is possessed is killed via suicide with no one watching?

reply

The problem is that he doesn't know how to pass the curse. They'd have to somehow set it up for him to find out.

reply

Neither did Rose until she followed the clues. And I'm assuming he's a better detective than she is, so he should be able to figure it out as well.

reply

The problem is that Rose could not figure it out without talking to the prisoner. The answer was obvious just from the police report.

Actually what he should do is contact the media and use the evidence that he has to alert the whole damn world as to what is going on.. No one could call him crazy after looking at that suicide chain.. The proper authorities could then simply lock him up and monitor what happens to him after the four day period and beyond. The monster needs trauma to eat.. So see if it can go two weeks without finding another victim..

reply

Creative! Actually when I read the title was thinking you were gonna say being a cop has him so used to seeing messed up stuff that the trauma aspect wouldn't be there.
