Watched this movie a second time...

I watched this movie a second time. It's OK background movie or a cute little thing to watch while ur doing stuff.

However, the plot is really bad. It makes sense, but it's just... so unimportant. There is a plot yes, and that plot is Judy is trying to get thrill points. What happens if she doesn't get thrill points? Nothing. We, the viewers, don't really care if she gets thrill points or not. Well, we do, but just not enough to keep us entertained.

Furthermore the plot and movie has no antagonist whatsoever. There's no one trying to bring her down. There's no one that she's competing with that is a horrible person to her and no one that she's competing with that is a totally unlikeable character. The fact that all of her competitors are also characters that we, and she, likes makes us like the movie even less.

I think this is my 3rd time watching this film and I will admit that Ramona and Beezus was a far superior film for a kid's movie since it actually a had a storyline and something worth fighting for. Whereas this film the real enemy was Judy's own ego and whinning about not having a good summer instead of trying to make the best of it.

She's a fourth grade girl...not James Bond.

What a stupid argument.

The antagonist doesn't have to be a radical terrorist holding the world hostage.
It can just be a scary dog and a slightly less scary owner (a la The Sandlot).

A film with no identifiable antagonist (even if it's just an idea, like in Castaway) doesn't sound like much thought was put into it.
