impressive!
I think this may come to the list of modern colombian cinema with great qualities and excellent performance, a movie that will probably become cult for some. the movie is not just very well done, highly focusing on atmosphere through images and soundtrack but also makes a distinction to the current modern topics handled by Colombian directors, staying away from the perspective of cheap and unquestioned nationalistic perspectives on the war against guerrillas and advances way more into the psychology from the characters whenever all of them have a very murky past of horror and that suddenly is balanced by the presence of an apparent supernatural being.
Its by definition a non politically correct movie, depicting soldiers as really dangerous characters filled with psychosis and reflecting their own barbarism wherever they step into. Its also remarkable the way Osorio mixed the paranormal with the psychological aspect, blurring the dimension of reality and fiction and exposing the viewer to the climate of fear, uncertainty and paranoia that the place and the characters involved bring.
This is the first real terror movie by definition in the history of colombian cinema and i must say its impressive and probably its own quality may redirect many viewers in the new colombian promise.
