I have never heard of Barry Pepper but...

He is a damn good actor. He played those drunk scenes very well.

He was in Battlefield Earth with John Travolta.

He SHOULD WIN AN ACADEMY AWARD for this performance. Too bad it wasn't in the movies. He would have won hands down.

But since this is tv, he should win an Emmy. I thoroughly believed him as a drunk.

Amazing, absolutely amazing.

He should win an award. He was very believable when he told Lois that he would stop drinking, but then he would get drunk again.

He played Roger Maris in 61* and was quite good in that, but he really played Wilson very, very well! Winona Ryder totally nailed it as the often isolated, sometimes angry, but always in love spouse of an alcoholic. She had a very "Donna Reed" quality about her.

Great movie!

I agree, I couldn't take my eyes of him, he is great, Winona was wonderful too, good to see her again in a movie.

No, davve11 -- you're thinking of Doug Hutchinson, who played Percy Wetmore (the bad guard.) Barry Pepper was Dean, the nice young guard who was Paul & Brutal's friend.

He also played Private Daniel Jackson, the religious sharpshooter in "Saving Private Ryan."

The first movie I really took notice of Barry Pepper was "Saving Private Ryan". He was outstanding as the sharpshooter. It was upsetting to see him killed in the movie. ----- I'd love to see Winona nominated for an Emmy for her performance in this made for TV movie. ----- I'd also like to see Barry Pepper get an nomination also. If Winona or Barry could really win the award that would be great. ----- ----- Rusty
