Some bad holes in the story [WARNING SPOILERS]

I don't recall the name of this episode, if it had one. I saw it May 21st, 2014. It occurred in Central City, Kentucky. A young woman named Corinne was brutally murdered.

Okay, at first her roommate Ashley said they were both wasted [drunk] and that was why she didn't hear any screams or anything. Corinne was killed in her bed, in her own room, in the apartment. BUT no alcohol was found in Corinne's system. Corinne's body, however, was found in the trunk of her car, parked somewhere in the small city of Central. Ashley claims she heard nothing because she was exhausted and sleeping very heavily due to the drinking.

Ashley also said that Corinne had left the door unlocked so her boyfriend Jimmy Springer could come in later. Jimmy says he came in, saw blood, Corinne wasn't there, that he left, drove around awhile looking for her and then went home. There were also some indications that Jimmy and Corinne were having problems in their relationship.

Jimmy goes on trial for Corinne's murder--but there's no forensic evidence to tie him to the crime and he is found not guilty. Now why wouldn't the prosecutor ASK why there was no forensic evidence??? There's ALWAYS forensic evidence.

So, the case goes unsolved for almost 20 years. To wrap this up--it is eventually discovered that Detective Billy Fields, in cahoots with Boyd, a vicious drug dealer, and also a protege of Fields, named Jimmy Cromer -- all three entered her apartment that night--and Fields killed her because she reported Boyd to the police for drug dealing. [Her roommate Ashley was friends with Boyd] Fields was a dirty cop and he eventually got rid of the forensic evidence and he never had it tested. That still doesn't explain why no one questioned the lack of forensic evidence. It also does not explain why Jimmy Springer said he came into the apartment that night?

Fields and Boyd supposedly terrified everyone so a neighbor who heard the screams didn't say so, and Ashley made up the story that she made up. So is Fields supposed to have convinced Springer to also tell the story that he came there that night--when he really didn't?

BUT the real icing on the cake for this whole thing is the nutty story that a woman [I've forgotten her name] came forward and told after almost 20 years. Allegedly she was 16 years old at the time, walking on the street not far from her home, when a police car driven by Fields whipped over to the curb and she was forced into the car with Fields, Boyd & Cromer--WHO JUST HAPPENED TO BE ON THEIR WAY TO COMMIT A PER-MEDITATED MURDER! There is nothing to back her story up. Who picks up somebody and takes them along when they're on their way to commit murder!!???

She says they forced her along with them into Corinne & Ashley's apt and she witnessed the murder. Then they took the body, put it in the trunk and forced her to drive the car somewhere. She got out of the car, threw away the keys and ran for it and got away. There is nothing to substantiate her story, IMO.

I agree with everything you said. So much of this episode didn't make any sense. Why would you kidnap a girl that you didn't know just to witness a murder?

All the evidence against Jimmy was substantial. There are a lot if cases that have substantial evidence.

And the three men were demented, amd obviously thought they could get away with taking a girl they didn't know to the murder since Fields was a cop..
