'Terror in Gulfport' Episode

I found some news articles talking about this case and commenters who know the parties involved.

There are a lot of people who believe George Lewis didn't do it. They like to point to the DNA evidence being inconclusive and that subsequent retestings remain inconclusive. If that was the only evidence then they might have a point.. But if you look at his ever changing story its hard to believe his story, his wife's alibi doesn't really help him. He utterly fails a polygraph which in an of itself doesn't prove anything but it certainly doesn't help. Then we have to footprint. As a further point the DNA was inconclusive BUT it also didn't rule him out..

I don't know George Lewis, I don't know any of the participants, the news and court information would lead an honest person to believe that Lewis had indeed committed the crime. For me I have crossed beyond the point of reasonable doubt. I dispute the position of people who say he simply couldn't do such a thing, people are capable of almost anything given the right trigger and everybody has secrets, you don't know his.

The only way to change my mind would be to have the DNA evidence prove otherwise.

You hit the nail in the head. I can understand why people claim that someone could never or would never have committed murder. However, whether they admit it or not, they can never be so sure of that. Even the nicest person in the neighborhood can be capable of murder. There are people who easily keep up appearances; they appear one way on the outside, but are something else on the inside. George Lewis was one of them. He was a racist, and his distaste for interracial couples was undoubtedly a factor in Karen Gregory's murder, since Karen was dating a black man at the time her murder.

By the way, do you know that George Lewis is now dead? He died on June 29, 2014.

I did not know that.

I agree with everything you said.

People are capable of ANYTHING including murder, however few people are pushed to the point where murder seems like a "good plan", thankfully. With the right trigger you never know what may happen. And you are exactly right, appearances can be deceiving. Watch enough of these crime shows and it become abundantly clear that even the most mild mannered can go nuts and kill someone..
