Perfectly serviceable

This film joins 24 other films about people going to Italy on vacation:

It works pretty much fine, but doesn't bring much to the party that we have not seen before. The only major redevelopment seems to be an ongoing house feud full of nasty tricks, which didn't really do anything for us. I don't care for pranksters, I guess, especially when pranks cause real harm, like loss of property.

In my book there were a couple other problems with the writing:
- The guy wasn't developed well enough. I never felt we were given enough to have a good handle on who he is, what kind of guy he is. He's down to earth and logical, we get that. But is he an impulsive risk taker or is he status-driven money manager? Unclear.

- What's also unclear is that after the feud is over, the two suddenly start liking one another? Why? There's no basis for any admirable qualities they have shown thus far, apart from looks, maybe.

Noticing that the same guy was writer, director and producer for this film, maybe he needs to give at least one of those jobs to someone else so that he can make sure all the jobs get the full attention they deserve.

6/10
