"Are You Here" review - Good film, but a rousing comedy it is not

Of the three (Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, and Amy Poehler), it’s a toss-up on which fares best, as it’s the ensemble cast that keeps the romantic drama afloat. Although it gets spooled out at a fairly slow pace, it still keeps an upbeat tone while the infighting continues stronger and stranger between Terri and Ben. Relationships are a large part of the film, and the chemistry between Wilson’s Steve and Laura Ramsey’s Angela is as strong as his love for his best friend Ben.

A good film, but beware, if you are looking for a rousing comedy, this is not it.

It's a better film than most people think.

I think they were expecting a comedy which it is not.

It's a character study of 2 friends that end up switching places. Was very watchable. I ranked a 7.

It's a dramedy, and a great one. Much deeper than, e.g., Smart People.

Agree. Owen Wilson continues to impress me with his interesting film choices.
