What where you all expecting?

This film is for people who play fantasy roleplaying games. Games like Dungeons And Dragons and Fantasy Flights Decent Journeys Into The Dark series. This is not going to be some expert with top notch visual effects affair. You are not going to ever get a Lord Of The Rings style fantasy adventure. People can not complain about this movie. Its not a Transformers affair where you expect more from a film with that budget. This is a B movie, when do you ever come out saying it was the best thing in the world. I love a good B movie like Killer klowns From Outer Space but I know its not an pscar worthy film but I still enjoy it.

It would be interesting if all the hate comes from people who do not play fantasy boardgsmes or RPG computer gsmes like skyrim.

Well as a DnD player, I don't think that added much to the film. It was poorly plotted, and somewhat nonsensical. For example, the character that happened to know what the book was and read the language...seemed entirely out of nowhere.

Just finished it. I feel like the cast was fantastic and everything else was pretty subpar.

There were a couple of things I dug about it: the beginning scene ripped straight from Evil Dead 2, the demon suit, and the song-fight at the end.

But the movie itself was rather poorly written and sadly even the great cast (seriously, how you can have so many good and funny actors and still not have a funny movie?) couldn't elevate the poor script and plotting.

Most of the issues with the plot where caused in post production when there was some pretty shady stuff going on with the producers and them having to rush out the film to avoid a law suit. Joe Lynch (the director) hates the version of the film we got, which is over 30 minutes shorter than his cut, and the cast refused to support the officially released film.

The second half of this film is where most of the gutting happened, with a pretty noticeable sudden loss of semblance around the 45 minute mark.

I was expecting it to be horrible, but after you realize you're watching a movie with "Badassdom" in the title about stoners LARPing and fighting a real demon with doom metal, it's pretty good.

Well I was expecting more Peter Dinklage who was wasted and more jokes period.Major disappointment.

This sentence is repeated over and over here. Goofy does not have to mean bad. I was expecting a fun and funny movie. It was awful.

I enjoyed the movie but you have some of the dumbest reasoning I have ever seen. So if someone isn't into role playing games the movie isn't for them or they can't like the movie? So I guess people can not like Black Swan unless they are into ballet. People can't like Seabiscuit because they aren't into horse racing. Can people like The Godfather if they are not in the mafia?
