They actually got Lucy Liu back?

How'd they pull that one off? She must really like voicing the character.

Or maybe she needs the work.

reply

Probably the latter comment.

I was very surprised about this too cause I thought James Hong was the only one who wanted to come back, but when I hear Lucy Liu's voice in the show, it doesn't feel the same like the way she sounds from the movies. Maybe because Viper doesn't have much lines like everyone else.

james hong (really liked him since 'i made your eyes' from blade runner)i can understand since he's always doing the support roles in movies so there's no stigma of him doing tv works. but lucy liu? why? she barely has any lines in the movie and the tv show, why even bother having her back?

reply

My guess is like others have stated in the thread- it was for the paycheck. Since Viper has so few lines, Liu likely recorded the entire season's worth of dialouge in a single short session. On one the newly aired episodes "Love Stings" it doesn't seem like Liu is doing the voice of Viper any longer.

lucy has done tv roles,

ally mc beal

elementary

being two i know

plus she's not getting any younger at 45.

so i say a paycheck is a paycheck and leave her the fk alone.

reply

Yeah poor Lucy Lui. She's only getting like $170,000 per episode on Elementary. I guess she had to supplement her income with Kung Fu Panda or start eating cat food to survive.

I wonder if she's homeless?
