What whiny, self absorbed, crybabies...and that's just the parents


I was moderately enjoying the movie with my kids until the middle, when it is shown that Harriet's parents are the most whiny self absorbed people on the planet. God, they are worse than the kids in the movie-that I would expect some of this from. But holy crap the parents are the worst.

Haha, I actually agree. Not so much the dad as the mom annoyed me. That and the ending implied Harriet learned absolutely nothing about lying about her and Skander.

In the end of the original book, the only lesson Harriet learns is that if she doesn't want people to be pissed off at her she has to lie. At least if she writes any of her thoughts down.
