I haven't seen the original but I thought it was an entertaining movie. I was a little bored by it in the beginning but once it started moving, I found myself entertained. And I thought Jen did a good job as an actress. I didn't get the feeling I was watching Harper.
I mean it's far from the best DCOM of all time, but it was still enjoyable.

I liked it too. I thought it was cute and unlike several recent DCOMs when the movie was over I wasn't left feeling like it wasn't finished yet. Also everytime they showed scenes from the singing, dancing spy movie I couldn't stop laughing. The sad thing is I could actually see someone trying to make that movie.
Jennifer Stone did a good job and it was nice that she didn't play the part as Harper because that character can get overwhelming at times (although she's supposed to, but it wouldn't have worked for this character).
Yeah I thought she did a good job as well. I've watched the first one (the nick version) and will always think it's far the best one, but this adaption wasn't AS bad as everyone is making it out to be (but then that's just my opinion). I agree on the fact that I too wasn't just watching 'Harper'.
Although I do think it got a little cheesy at the end, but thats a disney movie for you :|
I have to preface this that I am a huge Wesley Morgan fan. That being said, I thought that "Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars" was delightful. It wasn't intended to be compared to the original. It was for a new generation audience. The acting was very solid, the writing was targeted to its audience and Wesley Morgan as Skander Hill was amazing. I know a lot of his fans were disappointed that he did not hook up with Harriet.
