Confused about kbaby3148's review( in User Reviews)

The reviewer says that the movie was "contradictory" and "in some parts contradictory to Christian beliefs"

How is this movie contradictory to Christian beliefs?

I don't recall any beliefs being espoused at all in this movie -- and the ones practiced had to do with hearts that were changed because of prayer and because specific events happening around them -- such as a racist cop needing prayer, losing a promotion to a much yuounger black man, specific needs in their police work with people they encounter daily, and later, a desperate need for help from an African American cop to save the life of a family member of the racist cop and a sacrifice that African American cop made at no small expense to himself.

embittered racism due to a family tragedy, holding onto it for many years to the point of ruining one's family, personality, career, etc. are fairly believable. The fact that a preacher in a declining church is getting discouraged and burnt out(because of lack of growth and interest in the church among its congregation and because of all the ugliness in the human spirit he sees around him) are believable, and the fact that he can't devote full time to preaching but seems to have a much more needed and "God-directed" purpose helping real people every day as a policeman in a dark world is also very believable and seemed to be the main components of this movie.

Furthermore, the reviewer says many contradictory things -- said that the trailer looked good before the movie and it looked good, but then says, "I didn't see the trailer before the movie, but watching it after the movie I could tell the acting would be bad." -- This reviewer didn't know the acting would be bad until seeing the trailer AFTER seeing the movie?

I agree the movie is not the best thriller for an hour or so of escapism because it really didn't have a lot of fantastical elements, charm, ambiance, mystery, glamour, etc. THings we usually go to movies for. But it did have a few interesting plot twists without contradictions.

In any case, I wanted to know what you say are contradictions and how this movie contradicted Christian beliefs.

Update: kbaby3148 warned us that this movie probably wouldn't be in theaters very long,

but it was still showing at 90 theaters or screens in the 3rd week of April, at least 2 months after its release. Few movies stay out that long. I regret not seeing it a final time at its final showing at Hollywood 20 in Memphis that week.

On the 16th of May I noticed it's making a second-run at the local second-run movie theaters.

Don't forget the pastor's racism as well.

The pastor was not a racist.
