Actually a great movie

I went to The Grace Card with mixed expectations but the acting, pacing, and dramatic elements are all good, and great for such a low budget. Don't worry it's not sappy and contrived, like Flywheel or Facing the Giants

You and Mike Higginbottom were great in your roles. To my surprise, I cried many times throughout the movie. I also loved seeing our great city actually shown in a movie about Memphis!

If you're ever in town again, look up The Memphis Church. The congregation actually looks like the one in the final scenes. :)

Are we even talking about the same film? This movie is heavy-handed, poorly written, cliched, boring, and promoting blind faith as a solution to every vice or flaw.
Notice all the characters that are at peace are devout moral christians, and everyone with problems is wavering or disbelieving. Propaganda. I'd bet you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who liked this film much, and was not already a serious christian looking for confirmation of their superior beliefs.

It had alot of promise. The story was actually a good idea. However the shotty acting put a lull on the movie. The effort for the movie was there though.

I just saw this movie, this evening. It is a powerful tale.

I found it interesting that the pastor had such a rough time getting past his own bigotry. Mac's came from a single incident and reflected his own guilt over his 1st son's death. Preacher's was, more or less, inherited. This does not dismiss the idea that racism still exists in individual situations.

As Preacher pointed out at the end, it was as much a learning time for him as for Mac. He could not begin to help Mac, until he was able to deal with his own issue of unforgiveness.

Ergo, the Grace Card.

I loved this movie. It has a powerful message! I really enjoyed Michael Joiner's character and his powerful portrayal of the man filled with anger who God transformed!
