One Thing They Left Out...

Toward the end of the 80's-90's Turtle series they also went the slightly "darker and grittier" route as they were at that point competing against shows like Spider-Man, X-Men, and especially Batman which it emulated by copying the more moodier red skies and adventures taking place more at night than broad daylight. Even the eye holes in their masks were cut in a way to make the turtles look more 'moodier'.

When theres no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth.
