If TMNT Turtles Forever could be made into a video game....

....this is what I would like to see:

Note: As you know, there are more than one version of certain characters that appear in this movie. If I'm talking about certain characters from the 03-09 cartoon, I will call them MC [short for Modern Cartoon as I sometimes like to call it]. If I'm talking about the 87-96 cartoon, I will call them CC [short for Classic Cartoon as I sometimes like to call it]. If I'm talking about the comic books, I will just call them CB for short.

The game should follow the movie storyline, so as such you should be subjected to play as certain turtles, depending on what level it is. Maybe some extras [that are based on, but not in the movie] could be included. [virtually every video game based on a movie does that at some point]

*Playable Characters: MC Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo, CC Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, CB Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello.

Standard [Grunt type] Enemies: CC Foot Soldiers, Purple Dragon Thugs, Upgraded Foot Robots [Robots 2.0 as MC Michelangelo puts it], Mutant Beasts and CC Mutants.

Extra [Non-Playable and Non-Boss] Characters: MC Casey Jones, April O'Neil, Splinter, Karai and CC April O'Neil

Story Mode [1-4 players]

[should include actual footage from the Turtles Forever movie]

Before each level, each player will select one of the available turtles to play as. The rest [and non playable allies] will be controlled by CPUs.

If there was a Turtles Forever video game, it would kick ass. It should be released to Wii, PS3 and XBox 360.

This definitely sounds awesome, and what a dream it would be if this game was ever created! Too bad it'll likely never happen, but we can dream, can't we?

Yes, definitely.

Just like I dream of a darker and more violent TMNT cartoon meant for adult audiences.

A Turtles Forever video game and that would be awesome.

I also hope to one day walk into a store like Wal-Mart, Target or Best Buy [where I usually end up buying most of my DVDs] and see a DVD of this on the shelves and for a good price.

I figured levels like the Technodrome [before it got transported into the MC universe] and the CB TMNT vs CB Shredder would be cool to have in this game.

Most movie based video games do that [add extra levels, enemies, etc that weren't in the actual movie itself].

reply

Nick, honestly I think you should submit that to a gaming studio somehow. Chances are they will buy the concept/idea from you. Your name might not see the like of day but if it sells well they will come back to you for more ideas. I'm being dead serious.

Funniest Video EVER!

Who would more likely do it, Konami or Ubisoft?

One other thing I was wondering.....

Should this game be a 3D side scroller [like Turtles in Time Re-Shelled] or or have a play style like that of Mutant Nightmare [where each player selects a turtle and a CPU get's leftovers]?

I figure with today's (gaming) technology, you should be able to have all allies on the battlefield at once.

Example: Look at Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Battlefront II. You control one soldier and CPUs control your 50+ allies and all enemies.

I figured that with the final level [where you would face giant MC Shredder], you would have to be on top of a building and throw stuff at him [kind of like Nano Monster version 3 in the 03 TMNT game].

Of course, with every character comes his/her own unique combos and special abilities.

4Kids [modern] TMNT

*Leonardo: Turtle Slash [like in Battle Nexus]

*Donatello: Laser Shuriken thrower, shield [like in Battle Nexus] and/or the ability to fly kick across the screen [like in the 03 TMNT GBA game]

*Raphael: Turtle Kick [like in Battle Nexus] or a move like that one where he says "Double Sai" [in the 03 game]

*Michelangelo: The ability to twirl his nunchucks as if they were propellers, float in the air and kick with both feet [like in all 3 adventure 03 games]and/or the ability to hold out his one nunchaku and give fellow players a lift [like in the 03 cartoon]

Fred Wolf [classic] TMNT

*Leonardo: Endless Screw [like in Tournament Fighters]

*Michelangelo: Dynamite Bomber [like in tournament Fighters]

*Donatello: Rapid Bo swing [like in Tournament Fighters]

*Raphael: Jamboree or Power Drill [like in Tournament Fighters

Mirage [comic] TMNT

*Leonardo: Roto Cutter or Shining Cutter [like in tournament Fighters]

*Raphael: Power Drill or Chest Buster [like in Tournament Fighters]

*Michelangelo: Rising Thunder [like in Tournament Fighters]

*Donatello: Ground Claw or Head Spin Attack [like in Tournament Fighters]

As far as weapons, etc go for grunt enemies, here's what I had in mind....

Purple Dragon Thugs: either Laser Guns, Swords or Daggers

CC Foot Soldiers: either Laser Guns, Ninja Sword, Sais, Battle Axe or 3 Piece Staff or they can just be unarmed

Upgraded Foot Robots: Laser Guns or built in blades [tougher than the standard CC Foot Soldiers]

Beasts: Unarmed

CC Mutants: Unarmed

I'm sorry, these were all I could think of. As you can see, most of my above ideas [for weapons and special abilities] came from either the Konami classic TMNT arcade games, TMNT: Tournament Fighters or the Konami [03 based adventure] TMNT games.

I welcome any suggestions that people might have.

[deleted]

I was thinking of something along the lines of your ideas. I would love a game like this. If it's done it better be good!!!!

reply

I hope so.

Many [movie based] video games I've played were pretty cool [in my opinion].

Games like The Lion King [Super Nintendo], Toy Story [Super Nintendo], Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace [Playstation], Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith [Playstation 2], Super Empire Strikes Back [Super Nintendo] and Super Return of the Jedi [Super Nintendo] were all pretty cool, some changes [made exclusively for the games themselves] I liked while others just plain sucked.

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones [Game Boy Advance] was probably one game that was just OK. In my point of view, it sucked compared to the games above. It was just too watered down.

In a Turtles Forever game, I'd also like to see realistic [hand-to-hand and weapon] fighting styles for the characters. Hopefully there won't be any style branching combos [like in Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance and Mortal Kombat Deception], I suck at that.

In short, I'd like to see moves like blocks, jabs, vertical and horizontal slices and maybe some weapon twirling [like with a Bo Staff or Spear].

Maybe for special features, there should be concept art [which you could find through Makimonos like in the first 03 TMNT game] or even DVD videos [like in Mutant Nightmare] which would be hidden throughout levels.

There should also be a menu where you can watch unlocked cut scenes [which you would just have to view once in Story Mode to unlock].

Maybe even a video to cover the complete history of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles [including the comics, all the TV shows, all the movies, etc].

You know what else surprises me?

That there isn't a Turtles Forever toy line [action figures, vehicles, play sets, the whole fiasco].

reply

that would be so fun.

my only complaint, on the characters for the "VS" mode, add cc april and splinter. then a member of both the cc and mc foot clan. then a mutant and purple dragon thug. totaling 30 playable characters for the "VS" mode. or make that 31, add the mutant banana!

then, more into detail about the VS mode. have anywhere from a 1 on 1 fight, to a fight holding up to 8 characters.

but yes, would love this game (if it played right)

the thought of playing all that. then once i beat the game, challenge mode is unlocked.

the VS mode could be playable from the start. just that, only 2 characters from cc and 2 from mc would be playable. to unlock the 26 others, would have to play through the game.

and only the NYC rooftops of mc would be the only arena, until you unlock more.

which wouldn't take too long to start gaining some.

you beat the first level, you unlock the 2 other cc turtles, krang, cc shredder, as well as cc technodrome arena.

well, maybe on easy mode you only get 2 cc turtles and the arena, on normal you can obtain krang and cc shredder.

level 2 you unlock purple dragon thug, be it either easy or normal.

level 3- 2 mc ninja turtles. if on normal, those 2, as well as the purple dragon torture/captive room arena

level 4- MC splinter, on difficulty level normal or above

level 5- the little underground place where they fought outside the technodrome. that arena would become unlocked if beating the level on normal or above. CC foot solider and bebop and rocksteady would be unlocked on easy and above

level 6- unlock-able level on easy or above- mc sewers (memories fuzzy, was sure that was where this encounter took place). and then on normal or above, unlock human hun and mutated purple dragon thug

level 7- on easy or above, unlock the mc lair. on normal or above, unlock monster hun and foot solider 2.0

Level 8- on easy or above- cc streets arena. on normal or above, unlock cc april and cc splinter. on hard mode only, unlock mutant banana.

Level 9- on easy or above- mc NYC streets arena. on normal or above- mc casey and april. on hard only- mutant beasts.

Level 10- normal or above- modern cartoon shredder and modernized technodrome arena.

Level 11- Purple Dragon HQ lab, unlocked on normal or above.

Level 12- unlockable arena- smoking crater as universe dies out, unlocked on easy or above.

Level 13- unlock cb streets on normal or above.

Level 14- unlock 1 cb turtle, on normal or above. and on hard only, unlock cb shredder. on easy or above, unlock cb rooftops.

Level 15- on easy or above, unlock karai. on normal or above, unlock 2 cb turtles and the challenge mode. and on hard only, unlock the remaining cb turtle.

to play through all this, then to have the VS mode for both local or online once you have compalted, as well as challenge mode.

and all the characters you have unlocked along the way. then, to play through it again on hard to unlock remaining characters, would be fun.

although, it is a bit of a rip-off only to unlock just 3 more things if you completed it on hard. so, maybe some more stuff i listed would only be unlocked on hard. OR, maybe once you completed the whole game on hard, you get secret characters and arenas.

since this is a 25th anniversary cell-excuse me, SHELLebration, how about including THE rat king of the cc, baxter stockman and fly stockman of cc, one of the neutrinos of cc, cc casey jones, cc irma, cc vernan, cc burns, cc slash, cc leatherhead (croc guy!), cc lotus blossom

as well as cc arenas such as the sewers. would say lair, but that is just too damn tiny for a fight.

and then on mc, unlock mc leatherhead, ratking, stockman as human, and stockman as hardly any body, bishop, fugitoid, utrom shredder, those 4 god-like henchmen mc shredder had, Hamato Yoshi, and a triceratop

unlockable arenas, battle nexus, the 2 other versions of the turtles lair, etc.

im hyped about a game that probably will never exist... tough life for a ninja turtles fan.

Got ideas for the background music tracks for story mode, though they're mostly remixes of tracks from the 03 games.

I would also include tracks from the original releases of the original TMNT arcade game and Turtles in Time but they most likely wouldn't be used for the same reason as to why the original arcade tracks weren't implemented into the Battle Nexus port and why the original Turtles in Time tracks weren't implemented into the Mutant Nightmare port.......I guess you could say it was due to the stubbornness and/or greediness of Fred Wolf Films.

such a fun idea.

If Turtles Forever were to be made into a video game i think that it should be wii exclusive and in 2D. there should be a total of 8 levels and should be straight up related to the movie completely:

Level 1: Purple Dragon Headquarters.
Mission: Save 87 Turtles
Enemies: Purple Dragons
Boss: Hun

Level 2: Underground.
Mission: Find Technodrome
Enemies: Foot Soldiers
Boss: Bebop and Rocksteady

Level 3: New York City (Night Time).
Mission: Get to sewers to analyze the mutagen
Enemies: Purple Dragons
Boss: Mutated Dog Monster

Level 4: Turtle Lair/87 New York City
Mission: Escape Turtles lair and save 87 April.
Enemies: New and improved Foot Ninjas and Food monsters of 87 New York
Boss: Groundchuck and Dirtbag (can't argue with this. They put Hun in the TMNT GBA version and he's not even in the movie universe)

Level 5: Back in New York City
Mission: Clean the streets of mutated Monsters
Enemies: Mutated monsters
Boss: Tokka and Rahzar

Level 6: New and improved Technodrome
Mission: Find and get Shredder.
Enemies: New and improved Foot Ninjas
Boss: Karai

Level 7: Return to Purple Dragon headquarters
Mission: Get equipment to reprogram the transdimensional time stick
Enemies: Purple Dragons
Boss: Slash-Hun (The turtle mutated version of Hun)

Level 8: Turtle Prime
Mission: Stop Shredder
Enemies: Turtle Prime Foot Ninjas
Mini Boss: Prime Shredder
Main Boss: Utrom Shredder.

This bases more closely to the movie because there's never a time where 87 Shredder is fought up against nor Krang and for the most part they're on the good guys side. most of the missions that i've listed are in the movie. rescuing the 87 turtles, finding the technodrome, escaping hun and his mutated dog, escaping the 03 turtles lair and arriving in 87 universe, returning to new york and fighting mutants, infiltrating the technodrome and Purple Dragon HQ and of course going to Turtle Prime.

It's not guaranteed Turtles Forever will ever be made into a game but if its i think this would be a good layout for it. after level one the 87 turtles would join ur team now u got 8 fighters and after u meet the turtle prime turtles they join ur team and then u got 12 turtles to pick from. that'd be cool as well.

reply

I forgot all about Tokka and Rahzar.

I suppose they could be bosses for my version of level 9.

I chose level 9 to be a vehicle level, but I suppose the first part of it could be a vehicle level and the second part takes place on foot and end with Tokka and Rahzar as the bosses for said level.

If you're talking about the video game based on the 07 movie, never played it. But according to what you said, Hun's in it if I understand correctly.

I suppose they could also get into Challenge Mode.

I just forgot to include them completely because they had such small roles in this movie.

reply

Nick, I'd play your idea, but with a few minor changes:

1. In most instances, you'd be able to play as the allies and extra characters. (Ex: In the last level, in addition to the Turtles, you'd be able to play as MC Splinter and Karai and CC Shredder and Krang.)
2. You'd be able to switch characters in the middle of the level.
3. Maybe make the time limits on levels 9 and 10 a little bit longer. I don't know if this would improve the gameplay; I just hate time limits.

reply

I suppose stuff like that would work.

Having the ability to play as characters like MC April, Casey, Splinter, Karai, CC Shredder and Krang in Story-Mode.

Something like that would probably get implemented into the game through the use of a cheat code (like the ability to play as Splinter in Story-Mode of the first 03 game) or if certain conditions have to be met (like characters such as Slashuur, Karai, Splinter and Casey being unlocked after a certain period of time from when you created a file for the game like in Battle Nexus).

The reason I chose such a short time limit for level 12 (Return to the Smoking Crater) was because I didn't think that any enemies would be in this level. It would just be a race against time before the whole MC universe erases. There would have to be obstacles (such as maybe smashing down some walls or whatever) of course.

I'm thinking this game should be in 3D but a side-scroller.

To be honest, the first 03 game, Battle Nexus and Mutant Nightmare were cool, but nowhere near as cool as the 89 arcade game or Turtles in Time.

I suppose the switching characters throughout the level would work (chances are you would only get to choose 4 like in Battle Nexus). Then again, it depends on how many people (between 1 and 4) would be playing and how many characters are available for certain levels.

Here's a question for you, would each character say some kind of catch phrase upon appearance (like the playable characters did in Battle Nexus)?

EXAMPLE
Michelangelo: "I'm finally up? A late entrance for the star of the show, don't ya think?"

reply

Hey Nick,

just wanted to say that I love your idea, and I would defiently play it, Hun is not in the tmtnt movie game, the game only features characters from the movie but does feature the shredder himself.

Now silent bob!-Brodie bruce, mallrats

reply

Here's a new and improved version of Story Mode playable character and level layout from my OP.

*Playable Characters: MC Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo, CC Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, CB Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello.

*Secret Unlockable Playable Characters: MC Splinter, Casey Jones, April O'Neil, Karai, CC Shredder and Krang

*Standard (Grunt type) Enemies: CC Foot Soldiers, Purple Dragon Thugs, Upgraded Foot Robots [Robots 2.0 as MC Michelangelo puts it], Mutant Beasts, Mutant Leprechauns, Food Mutants and Mutant Cannonballs.

*Extra [Non-Playable and Non-Boss] Character: CC April O'Neil and other civilians.

Story Mode [1-4 players]

should include actual footage from the Turtles Forever movie

Before each level, each player will select at least one of the available characters to play as. The rest (non playable extras) will be controlled by CPUs.

For some levels, each player may have to select more than one playable character but no more than four. You should also have the ability to toggle between your selected characters by pressing a button.

4 player game. Here's how every level select could work.

-4 playable characters: Each player selects 1 character

-5 playable characters: 1 player selects 2 characters and the others select 1 each

-9 playable characters: 1 player selects 3 characters and the others select 2 each

-8 playable characters: Each player selects 2 characters

-10 playable characters: 2 players select 3 characters and the other 2 select 2 each

-12 Playable Characters: Each player selects 3 characters

-16 playable characters: Each player selects 4 characters

-Vehicle-Battle Shell: 1 player drives and the other 3 control the turrets

-Vehicles-Turtle Van (1 player drives and 1-2 other players control the turrets), Turtle Glider (1 flies and another player controls the turret) and Casey's Motorcycle (1 player controls Casey who just goes by smacking enemies with his Hockey Stick) CPUs control left-overs

This way if 1-3 more players want to jump in during a level, they just press Start and select however many characters they're allowed. Kind of like the Arcade games and the 1st 03 games.

I'd so buy this game if it existed! Something like this just might have even taken the prize as the top Turtles game of all time, which would say a lot! Bummer there haven't been any true memorable games based off of the current T.M.N.T. cartoon. Even the second show had it's share of pretty good ones, for the most part.

Extreme situations require extreme measures!
