Left4Dead3...where would you like it set?

Personally, I'd love to see them have maybe 9 missions, broken up into 3 'stories' as such, with different characters. Start in an area, say Washington, then Evac internationally to the Caribbean. Unfortunately that gets infected in due time and you fight your way to another Evac and make your way to Sydney, Australia. Imagine a level based near the freakin Opera House taking Luna Park into account!? That'd be insane. In essence, showing the infections spreading world wide.

I really don't give a crap about where it is on the map... "OMG look statue of liberty!"... I'd rather have a good level that plays well both single and versus. L4D wasn't set in any specific location but the maps work. The L4D2 obsession with a location theme overlooks bad map making, like the shopping mall which is just a *beep* level IMO.

Well, I don't think they would give us the same survivors. So, they'd probably start off with a different group of survivors getting rescued and taken to the cruise ships (And, we get a brief cameo of the Left 4 Dead 2 survivors in their chopper, as well). After that, I'd say that the Infection somehow gets aboard (perhaps by Carriers) and everything goes to Hell soon afterwords.

Or, the Infected could start mutating again... This time to where they can swim.

Redfern that'd be an interesting idea. Although an actual level set in the docklands where you're trying to get onto the cruise ship, ending with you on the boat only to find out it's full of infected could be fun too? :D

Or, you have them in the helicopter flying towards the cruise ship when suddenly someone on the other end sends out a warning that either A) The Infected mutated...again... or, B) Someone got Infected and, well, it spread pretty fast.

I like the idea of the Infected attacking the cruise ships... Like, you're on the boat trying to find any other survivors before it goes down, and then, deep in the water, the Infected start to come out...

Indeed, or mayhaps in the ocean somewhere, a group of cruiseships have sort of anchored together and formed a flotilla of 'islands' as such. And your map is a group of these otherwise now abandoned ships overrun with the living dead. Your goal? To reach the other side where there's some luxury yachts you can sail off on that have supplies on board enough to last weeks...

Well, you'd still need a variety of maps, as well. Perhaps the first story deals around getting to the mainland, maybe somewhere in Texas or Florida.

I'm probably one of very few who liked L4D2 better than L4D1 so I'd love to see another campaign in a series of mini campaigns. The fact that L4D2 takes place in the deep southern US is kind of cool since that isn't the most common place to put zombies in (speaking from my vast experience of zombie movies now of course).

But I wouldn't mind placing the action in other parts of the world - large open areas like deserts are probably not doable because of technical limitations, but apart from that, almost anything. Something like London before and after the rescue ((28 days later and 28 weeks later) would be nice - not necessarily placed in London of course.

And I would like to see other people as well, not part of the survivors group and not infected. Perhaps people to save, get support and help from and so on - and which you can see, not like the gun guy or Virgil who are only voices. Considering how well the survivors in both games have looked (very natural), I think that would add more depth to the story line.

I would like to see the next one take place around SoCal, or maybe around Wisconsin area... New England states would be good, too.

Why the US at all? If the infection is global, then the game could take place anywhere - Tokyo Japan, Oslo Norway, Reykjavik Iceland, Paris France... Although, considering New England's litterary reputation to be scary thanks to people like Lovecraft and Stephen King and others, that could do well.
