What does everyone think?

I'm six episodes in and enjoying it. I still can't get over how amazing everything looks both cinematic and costume wise. I'm normally not a fan of sci-fi but this one is different, it's easy to understand what's going on and each episode ups the stakes while providing more story.

The actors are doing a great job, especially the hunter guys (not the sect but the other dudes that helped Riese in the forest, sorry I'm bad with names.) Also, the stunts are pretty awesome.

Christine is good at emoting a tough but weary warrior who's living on the hair trigger of caution. My only complaint, and again this could be because she's acting with an animal, is the line delivery in her scenes with Fenrir. Every time she's talking out loud it sounds rushed, as if she's reading off the cue cards. Which isn't the case when she's talking to the doc and other people. So if she could slow down and get into the feeling of the scenes with her wolf companion the show would be perfect.

What do you guys think of this show?

Fight for the users?... Really Tron, really?

Steampunk cosplay gone bad. The acting, direction and fight scenes are amateurish at best. Story is OK though.

I agree that the acting could use a bit of improvement, especially with Christine's scenes with Fenrir, it's the worst timing of line delivery ever! But I think they'll improve as the show kicks off.

Direction I can't really fault because they're not pros, and the simple fact that it looked even halfway decent is a feat. The story is the first sci-fi I've been able to follow in the past decade so they get points there.

Love at first sight is often cured by a second look.

Looks like all those other Bad British Columbian production fantasy TV shows I've seen. They took the production values from the Xena playbook.

1. Set it (yet again) in the woods of BC.
2. Hire bad Canadian Actors who work for cheap.
3. Always some lame plot of an evil overlord who needs to be overthrown.
4. Bad acting and lame robin hood tooting soundtrack.
5. No directing, no visual style.
6. Completely fake looking CGI effects and background.

Riese, like a bunch of series before it, takes a template, changes it around a bit and then releases it.

Lame plot of an evil overlord who needs to be overthrown? This was not the case. It was an Empress and the an evil sect that were the villains in this story but in the end it seems like things were going to end up blurry since the sect had plans to oust the Empress.
