who or what is the character fighting in the trailer, whatever it is it looks awesome.

Mike Hawke fights a lot of things in that trailer, but if it's a giant thing with horns it was a Qunari... and if it was a giant thing with horns wearing a metal bra then it was an Ogre.

i'm talking about the destiny trailer where he only fights one thing. qunari have horns? why didn't sten have horns?

Yes, that would be a Qunari. The Qunari have horns now because BioWare has decided they look "kewler". Their excuse for Sten is that some Qunari are "special" and are born without horns. The Tal-Vashoth (Qunari who turn their back on the Qun; ie: the Qunari mercenaries scattered throughout DAO) are said to remove their horns. We're just supposed to ignore the fact that there are no visible horn stumps on their heads in DAO.

i would have thought maybe when the qunari reach a certain age they begin to grow horns, maybe sten was too young...oh well

There are two different types of Quana`ri. one has horns, the others doesnt. The ogres in dragon age, are the result of "tainted" quana`ri. According to Bioware.
