I found it not bad, but surely oversized. I think it could have been a short movie, like 30 minutes or less, and it could have been better...

You would have lost the sense of how long the space mission was, how the boredom and repetition went on uncompromisingly, why Forest began to hallucinate, the monotony punctuated by moments of pure terror (when his repairs failed) and so on.
Would you feel the right amount of sympathy for Forest after just 30 minutes?
