Outside the bar on Illium? I'm in an old game that I started in 2010 and I don't remember what I did to get slapped. I've never gotten slapped before this game and I certainly don't remember what I did from 4 years ago.
I heard about the Asari slapping you back then but I thought players were saying it was some sort of glitch.
Does anyone know?

It's not the bartender. The Asari that backhands me is the owner of the bar. I still haven't been able to figure it out. She's standing in the hallway and the minute you approach her, it goes to a cutscene of her slapping me. You can't get into the bar without setting her off. She talks about my "partner", who turns out to be Conrad Verner, trying to get the deed to her bar.
The arrogance of man is thinking nature is in our control and not the other way around.
That has to be something that carries over from part 1.

I vaguely remember hearing about this Asari slapping Shepard back in 2010 but I thought it was labeled a glitch. I can't really remember what there was about it, though. Out of all of the games I've got saved, and there are a ton that were saved in anticipation of ME 3, there are only 2 saved games I have where I've been backhanded by her.
I like Conrad so I never went renegade on his butt in ME 1. It's very puzzling.

The owner of the bar is always in front of it the first time you go there. She's the one complaining about Conrad.

Um, sort of... You go to the bar, you see the boss complaining; she asks you to help (or slaps you, apparently), you go in & Conrad's there, arguing with Liara's Dad/the bartender.

I've played part 1 every which way, relating to Conrad and I've never been slapped by the Asari.
In part 1, I've ignored him, threatened him, been nice to him; heck, once I even left his journal entry unfinished when I completed the game, but I've yet to encounter a slapping Asari.
