What happened to Caresse?
Caresse was not seen from the time she was in the basement until the very last scene. Did they ever address what happened to her?
No, to my knowledge they never did.

I missed the beginning so I'm not sure who Caresse was. But when after Fritz broke into their house and fell down the stairs, the wife asked where was someone. Fritz said, "gone".
That could have been about Caresse.

Going to skip the spoilers thingy since that last one made me look like an idiot.
She was tied up and apparently unconscious in the trunk of her car in his garage. That was her car they had just opened the trunk of and gotten her out of in that last scene with her. She had a pretty good sized blood smear on her forehead.
The last poster is correct except that Caresse's car was found in a field somewhere. It was not still at the crazy guy's house. You can see a field of green behind the car as the police open the trunk and take her out (and yes, with a smear of blood on her head, but otherwise, seeming fine).
shareUmmmm, I think one of us was mistaken on this one, Niki. Was that *not* his house the cops were all around right there at the end??? That open garage and the opened car trunk they got her out of was right there in the shot. They're around her helping her and leading her away from the opened car trunk sitting in the opened garage right there in the shot. I might be mistaken.
shareIt was kind of hard to tell, because the cops were at the house rescuing the daughter, and then immediately after, they're pulling Careese out of the trunk. The shot of them rescuing Careese was very tight, with not much background, but it does appear she and the car were in a field near some woods -- not at the house.
shareFritz wacked her over the head with the shovel and then apparantly tied her up and stuffed her into the boot of her car (though you dont see the tieing up part) then you see him go off in her car so I guess he dumped it in a field or something.
