Aliens?
The witch ended up looking like a damn alien chasing them in the hallways and then the light at the end when they were in the attic. Were they aliens instead of witch?
WTF?
maybe something lovecraftian? like an alien that would come across to us as supernatural? I doubt that is their intention though.
