Good series - but ended too early in history (minor spoilers)

Great series. Lately I enjoy some period pieces. Fiction or non-fiction. And this one here was really well done.

Location, setting, costumes, acting. All great. Shot on location in Versailles for many scenes. Makes a really impressive setting.

Emilia Schüle and Louis Cunningham did a great job (Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI). Especially Louis' transition from shy-guy to the more powerful king he was later was great to watch. His relationship with his brother Provence was intense and well acted.

Really a great production with top-class actors and actresses. From the minor to the major characters.

I really wish they would have continued the story to the end. But it ended just after the win of the battle with England.
I would have liked to see more what came after. The other kids that were born out of their marriage (and the controversies). And of course the downfall of them both and the sad, but true endings of the dauphins and dauphines. I was hoping the would go all the way.

It's still a great series. And who knows, maybe there will be another season or another series (this team also did produce "Versailles" which followed the history of Louis XIV, so there might be hope).
