Why no mention of their New Mexico facility?

According to Wikipedia, the rescue split into two facilities when they left California. They established a facility in New Mexico for senior and unadoptable dogs, and the rescue and adoption center as portrayed in the fourth season was established in New Orleans.

First, let me say that I pretty much ignored the series until the fourth season began. I instantly became a fan and have seen the entire fourth season. I was wondering why there was no mention on any episode of the fourth season of the facility in New Mexico. Even though all the drama revolves around their new life in New Orleans, they do have a presence in New Mexico, but you'd never know it from watching the fourth season. Just wondering why that is.

They did mention it very briefly in one of the last episodes.

As I've understood it from the show, interviews and comments on their Facebook page - the New Mexico facility is strictly for senior & unadoptable dogs to retire to in peace. They don't want to subject those dogs to the hustle, bustle and stress of film crews.

With the caveat that I don't know how much truth there is to this: I also saw mention by others (people not directly affiliated with the rescue/show) that said that early on - after it was first established & mentioned on the show - they had some trouble with stalker'ish fan-types showing up there, making a fuss, demanding to see Tia or her kids or parolees, and generally disturbing the dogs. Since these are the dogs who most need peace, security and routine, it would make sense that if they had issues with the stalker-types, they'd decide to no longer make mention of the New Mexico facility so as to minimize the amount of "new interest" such mention would create.

But as I said, I've no idea if that was just rumor or based on fact - I've seen nothing "official" one way or the other.

Well, that would certainly be a good explanation for why they don't mention their NM facility on the show.

Mondo was shown joining the N.O. group in the latest episode due to his daughter's illness, and he had New Mexico tags, which you could see through the blurring. They never mentioned the site specifically, though.
