Do the parolees get paid for their time? I'm new to the show and wonder if this has ever been mentioned. Matt, I think that's his name, said he wanted to come and work for Tia 7 days a week rather than be incarcerated so I'm wondering if Tia gets all this labor for free?

No they get paid . Probably minimum wage but they do get paid, Was Matt the one who was on work release from prison? Tia took him shopping for work clothes so I'm sure he had to reimburse her out of his future wages.
