Khao manee, Himalayan

I did not know what kind of cat my aunt had, or the neighbors up the street had until I saw this show.

When my family and I went to West Virginia in 2006, we went to visit my aunt Nell. When we got there, a white cat came running up to meet us and demanded to be petted on. I was surprised because I thought all cats wanted nothing to do with people, only to be fed.

It was a boy cat named "Dennis", and he had a blue eye and a green eye. Nell said that he was completely deaf, which was why they had to keep him inside. On the "Khao Manee" show, it said that these cats are either completely deaf or deaf on the side of the blue eye. It is a genetic condition. Other breeds have fluid inside of their ears to help them hear. I liked him because he was so friendly.

Several years ago, my mom and I were walking our street. As we passed one house, a big, furry, Persian-looking cat named Lola came running to meet us. She looked like a cross between a Persian and a Siamese, and even the owners didn't know what she really was! Later on, after watching this show, I learned she was a Himalayan cat, a cross between a Persian and a Siamese. This is a good educational show. I guess they had to do this to keep people from leaving them on the side of the road, or taking them to a shelter because they didn't know how to take care of them.
