Problem with the Show

They say they're choosing from applicants, but it's obvious the cadets on the show have zero experience, so nitpicking them for every little thing isn't actually fair because proper paranormal investigation takes years of practice and self discovery.

They should be choosing from applicants who actually are already spiritually mature, with real investigation experience, that way we don't see this heavy handed, almost cruel teaching that seems like bad teaching.

I think the episodes with Adam have shown an improvement, and the happy birthday EVP was interesting.

The Performance reviews are really bad.

I agree, although some of them profess that they've been doing it before, so maybe they faked their way in.

But at the same time, having inexperienced people makes it better TV; people like to see people get treated like morons and get berated. Sometimes like they deserve it (like Rosalyn because she was actually an idiot) but other times it's a joke. I love how they jump on the cases of some of them for doing things they do on GH and GHI all the freakin' time, or they say they should something that they never do on their shows. I mean let's face it, for the most part Steve and Tango are making this crap up as they go anyway.

The biggest flaw I have with the show, which is with "reality" shows like this in general, is pretty much every episode it's easy to tell who's going home. They pick out one person and pretty much focus on all their mistakes and really highlight them, and with their editing it makes it look like they did nothing right the whole episode.

To be fair to them, they did pick an older crowd this time. Eric, Roslyn, Vera were older, and even the younger cadets this year seemed like they were much more mature than the group from last year.

I do agree its kind of pointless to be nitpicking them... its not like the regular GH crew havent made stupid mistakes. I think the nitpicking may have come from it *not* being that hard to master the basics, and they had such a good crew, so they had to eliminate people based on something.

True and they only have a limited amount of episodes, so unfortunately you have to be more brutal than is really productive. You work with what you got. If you had forever to figure it out sure, you could sugar coat and lead by the and let people grow at their own pace.

Well, the GH franchise are the only people(shows) who use equipment like thermals, audio recorders, video recorders, emv detectors... Many others don't do that in-depth investigations, and I don't think ANY of them analyze their investigations for proof...

Most Haunted... should really be called most swearing by the most scared little morons on television. They only thing they do are the camera crew, the head cams, and the occasional seances and makeshift Ouija boards.

Ghost adventures... I'll admit that I don't watch this show at all... I Can;st stand the way the Zack guy talks... almost as annoying as Andy Andrews (But. Not. Quite.).

I have seen paranormal state on a couple of occasions... It seems okay but I am uncomfortable with "kids" dabbling with the paranormal in that magnitude.

How can anyone tell who is spiritually mature... did any of them run away crying... If I told you I was first visited by ghosts when I was 5 years old would you think I was spiritually mature? and Many of them DID have investigation experience... the blue are their experience proof and things that could help them with investigations (criminal justice, computer science...)

Daniel Huang... is an apparent whiz with computers and cameras he turns off a piece of equipment (audio recorder?) just after they caught something...

Michelle... a criminal Justice student(many ghosts are criminals or were killed by someone... a criminal...) has been investigating in a hometown team since 17.

Rosalyn Bown, although currently unemployed, she is a founding "mother" of the south Jersey Ghost research and has conducted over 125 investigations before trying out for taps... I don't think she ever had to analyze her findings...

Brett McGuinness is a film student and one hell of a researcher... He formed and has his own investigative team.

Eric Baladino is self employed, was a former member of Ohio Organization of Paranormal Studies and is head of his own investigative group.

Natalie Poole is a computer programmer, and experienced sound engineer and has a degree in computer science... although she says she has little patience for investigators who scare easily (she would kill Kath form MH!)she also has little patience for staying with her group when investigating...

Vera Martinez is a psychiatric nurse and says that this training made her patient and mentally ready for these investigations.
