Knew this would be trash the moment I saw the commercials

I'm sure people have already said this, but I'd like to add in my piece. First off, I did love Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International and was watching the new episodes every Wed. with all the other avid fans out there. I'm very interested in such things and have always enjoyed the series. Steve and Tango were pretty amusing to watch most of the time.
But when I first discovered they were making a Ghost Hunters Academy, I thought "No. No, no, don't ruin it for yourselves, don't ruin it for *me*." There are so many other reality game shows that are all about tears and tantrums and smarty-pants "leaders" that it's sickening to watch. They shouldn't go there with a good series like GH. But, sadly, they did.
I watched the very first episode of Academy. Ever since that day I got turned off by the entire GH thing and have only just recently decided to get back into it.

I guess there was a small portion of me hoping that Academy would somehow be better than the other reality game shows. Nope. When I heard the Jason and Grant "If you're not good enough we can always get more people who would love to replace you" speech, I sighed in disappointment. Everything would have been very interesting and educational had they stayed true to the word "Academy." You know, actually educate and teach their "students" properly about paranormal investigations and how to conduct them, *then* eliminate those that didn't have the knack for it. The students as well as the audience would learn more.
What I got instead was the typical jerky teachers scolding and making their students look like idiots every time they did something wrong. This is a far cry from education. The whole show looks like an excuse to boss and berate the "lesser" people around. This isn't becoming AT ALL to the Ghost Hunters team that I thought I knew and loved. I was very much disappointed.

To be fair, I only watched one episode and saw parts of a few others, so I can't say if they got any better or worse. But if they were wanting to pull in the audience with a good first impression, they didn't. At least not this audience member.
