Does anybody like the new format of voting people off...

at the end of every ep? I'm not sure I do. I think it's okay for when things are not going well (Natalie, stay with your group...) but not EVERY episode! I mean, it's turning into "The Bachelor"!

Do the others get a rose or something when they get to stay?

They're not really voting per se, they're simply polling the cadets. I agree with you - it simply doesnt fit in. I know its basically a game show, a competition, but having taught students in the past I can say making students pick apart other students is a sign of a piss-poor teacher. You end up with students just making crap up because they dont necessarily have anything valid to pick apart (in several episodes, there really werent any serious problems with any of the cadets). Again, yes, I know its TV... but its also supposed to be a serious search for TAPS...and thats not the best way to find the best candidate.

The biggest problem with the series is it's basically the blind leading the blind.

I don't like them asking the contestants; for one it really doesn't matter what they think since the GH guys end up making the final decision. And two, it doesn't really fit; they added it just to add catfighting to the show, which these "reality" shows get off on but it really just turns them against themselves. Even if some are working well together, if they have to start complaining about each other, it turns to crap.

Yeah, I don't like the idea either. They're fostering a mindset of criticizing their own peers. Like others have said, this leads to nitpicking and maybe even over-exaggerating and making stuff up. Condoning this type of behaviour leads to disrespect, at the least, when colleagues are unfairly or unjustly slighted. This type of environment would be cancerous in a "real" work environment and not work at all.

But, yes, it's true this is a competition made for television.. and infighting and conflict is probably seen as more interesting for the viewing audience thus ratings.
