I was disappointed

I was expecting a thriller -- like Jake gets out of prison and manipulates himself into their lives and when they realize he is an ex-con and tell him to beat it, he starts to stalk them, getting his old thuggish buddies to help. Instead I end up with a tepid drama. Jake was actually nice! After learning her daughter is having sex with this dude, the mother wanted to meet him and have dinner and get to know him. WTF! It was not at all what I was expecting.

Exactly! Me too. I thought it was going to be more like that movie with Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon. I can't recall the title.

This movie was pretty lame.

It was "Fear." I too was totally thinking this Lifetime movie was going to be like Fear which I kind of enjoyed.

Thanks for reminding me of the title...such a long title, no wonder I forgot...LOL

Yeah, I thought this had "Fear" written all over it. Then it was nothing at all like anything but the worst most stereotypical Lifetime movie. And I usually enjoy the "so bad, they're good" variety. But not this one.

Maybe she was trying to use reverse psychology- she probably thought that would get her daughter to open up a little more with her. Also, she might have thought that if she seemed to approve of this guy, the relationship would lose its excitement for her daughter and she'd end it.

I would almost rather it be the way it was rather than it be exactly like "Fear," either way people would critisize, gotta hand it to this movie - I don't think many people saw any of what happened coming, I think that's what people were going for, yeah she met him online, which I don't think was being promoted, but at least it wasn't "He was in prison, automatically a POS." He was genuine, cared for her, got mixed up in bad things and did things he shouldn't have, yes, but he DEFINITELY could have been a worse person.

I agree with the OP the movie was dragged out and boring. I waited for something traumatic to happen and nothing happened.

The EPG said thriller, nothing about the movie was thrilling. I was very surprised to see that the picture was actually the guy and not some twisted looking 40 year old. Then i was thinking how are they gonna make this handsome young man creepy and mysterious. :(
I wanted mind games,manipulation something...
Well i wander what that says about me, lol

I'm watching it right now and I'm bored out of my mind. How old is this guy supposed to be? 23? And Cami is one month from turning 18, and the Mom is going crazy because she's sneaking out to see a boyfriend? Just a bad Lifetime movie.
