So you can't tell people from their voices now?

Is that called "Ear Blindness" or is it "Facial Deafness"? Somewhere along the way the writers must have smoked some crack and all logical thought went out the window.

I have developmental prosopagnotia, I've been able to figure out people by their voices a couple of times, but I rarely do. I mostly rely on their haircut. The protagonist can't even do that because she just got the faceblindness and she hasn't developed any coping mechanisms yet.

I bet you couldn't, not to the extent you think. When you recognize someone, you are recognizing a lot of visual and auditory cues, all affecting each other. You think you're recognizing a voice, but your brain is putting everything together for a total identification package.

I bet if you got someone to record the voices of 100 acquaintances, friends, families, and actors, you wouldn't get more than 50% right.

Actually I do often recognize people by their voice, but it takes a fairly different voice to cue on who it is. In everyday life, most people you're around have generally the same accent, they're talking about the same things, etc.

You've *never* picked up the phone and not realized who is speaking for a few moments?
